We board the Sea Cloud!

On a very windy day, we boarded the Sea Cloud and boy were we in for a treat!  Champagne served as we boarded (one of about 5 times we were served champagne!) and wet towels to wipe our hands!  Here are a few pictures of the Sea Cloud. (first a picture I took at the last WWII Museum we went to with the flags all waving in the wind.  Beautiful)
Ok, here we are on the Sea Cloud!

Georgia Brinkman, this is for you!  Linda Bradshaw and me!

The ship and a view from near our room (that's our door right by the steps, and right by where all the crew hung out!  We'd hear them early in the morning).

Our first excursion was to an island (Herm) that was actually owned by England, so we had to set our watches back an hour.  We were supposed to see birds called Puffins, but we really never saw any!
It was a beautiful island though and we got to walk around the whole thing.  Only 50 or so people live on the island, everyone else are tourists.

Our first view of setting the sails!  Quite an undertaking.  The crew climb the masts to undo the sails.  Some pray before going up.  It's a long way up there!
Here is a video of setting the sails!

And another from out in the water.  Rob braved it, I didn't!
